Our official title is
the Parish Church of St John the Evangelist, Upper St Leonards,
in the deanery of Hastings, in the Diocese of Chichester
but we're better known as
St. John's, Pevensey Road
What are we like? Here are some of the labels which might help: anglican, liberal, catholic, open, inclusive and welcoming.
We try to create a "safe space" where people can come and explore the faith and their relation to it.
Our style of worship is in the catholic tradition of the Church of England (sometimes called "high church"), but we’re also quite relaxed – it’s much easier to experience than describe – so we’re always delighted when people join us for worship: come and see.
