What's On

Saturday 29th June at 8am : Big Breakfast

Our next Big Breakfast will be at Smiths Real Food 21 Grand Parade TN37 6DN

We are looking forward to a great breakfast, good company and a fascinating insight into the work of Mission Aviation Fellowship.

George Goring is our guest speaker from MAF. He will tell us more about how their fleet of planes fly across the world to support isolated communities with health care, food relief and spiritual support.

Please let Mike Turnbull or Mike Cooper know if you are coming

St John’s Cycle of Prayer

The prayer booklet has been updated and copies are available from Clare Cooper. Through the month we pray for the congregation, activities at St John’s, our parish, local churches and ministries we support. The booklet can be used imaginatively – not necessarily as a list – we all have different ways of praying.

Eco Tip for Gardeners

Spring has sprung. This means that some species of solitary bees are emerging. Bees are so important for humanity and the environment; sadly, they are in decline. Why not plant some bee-friendly spring plants? Spring plants that bees will love include flowering cherry, hawthorn, crab apple, daffodils, pulmonaria, sea thrift, bugle, alliums and grape hyacinth.

Even if you don’t have a big garden, you can plant on a balcony or get window boxes.

Knitting for St. Michael's Hospice

Anyone who enjoys knitting is welcome to join Val Rodney in knitting small items which will be sold at the hospice to raise funds. Val can give you more information about the sort of items that sell well.

If you have any spare knitting wool please pass it on to Val, it’s always useful.
